Ethos and Aims

All Saints’ is a Church of England Voluntary Aided school and so we aim to create the right atmosphere in which to educate the children to their full potential by:-

(i)  building Christian values into our teaching through half-termly ‘Values for Life’:

  • Forgiveness, Hope, Perseverance, Friendship, Thankfulness, Courage
  • Peace, Responsibility (including stewardship of the environment), Trust, Compassion, Humility, Wisdom
  • Respect and Reverence, Truth, Service, Generosity, Creativity and Justice

(ii)  having the support of all our staff for our Christian Foundation and giving a high priority to the spiritual development of the school community

(iii)  developing in pupils a sympathetic understanding of the Christian Faith and placing Collective Worship at the centre of our daily life, giving them the opportunity to believe without pressure

(iv)  developing strong links between home, church, school and the wider community

(v)  welcoming all children from the neighbourhood whatever their parents’ beliefs and teaching respect of other major world faiths

(i)  to help each child develop a lively enquiring mind with the ability to begin to question and to reason and to apply themselves to tasks and skills

(ii)  to provide a planned, stimulating, secure and caring environment, in which every child will be given the opportunity to fulfil their own potential mentally, physically, socially and spiritually

(iii)  to foster, within this environment, the development of self-discipline, honesty, independence and consideration for others
