Class Teachers - Mrs McManus & Miss O'Hare
Welcome to Emerald Class (Year 3) page. Mrs McManus will be teaching Year 3 Monday to Wednesday, apart from Tuesday afternoons, which will be covered by Miss Elsdon (subject to change). Miss O’Hare will be teaching the class on Thursdays.
On Fridays, Mrs Palmer will greet and register the class in the morning and teach them Maths and DT in the morning. The rest of the day will make the most of our teacher’s specialisms and be covered by Miss Hewson – Creative Writing, Miss O’Hare - Computing and Mrs Cutter -French. You will find the class timetable on the welcome letter.
Throughout the week we will have a variety of teaching assistants to support the children’s learning including Mrs Cuzmenco, Mrs Holmes, Mrs Littlewood, Mrs Katzaros and Mrs Griffin.
P.E days are on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Please make sure P.E kits are in school Mon-Fri each week.
Each term, the children will dive into their learning based on a history or geography theme. The children will explore ‘Fossil Hunters’, where they will learn about the Stone Age and rivers, ‘Britain’s Greatest Journeys’, where they will learn about the birth of British railways and the local area; and finally ‘The World of Chocolate’ which is all about the Mayans and rainforests.
