Keeping children safe
At All Saints’ keeping children safe is a key priority; this includes:
- Premises security: during the school day access to school is only via the Reception, which has a security door. All external gates are locked between 8.45am and 2.55pm.
- All staff and volunteers are DBS (Disclosure and Barring List) checked before being allowed to work with children
- All staff receive safeguarding training so that they know what signs to look for and what action to take - please see our Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy.
- The Headteacher, Katie Hammond, is the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL); this means that she has overall responsibility for safeguarding at All Saints’. Headteachers are required to report any obvious or suspected cases of child abuse – these include non-accidental injury, severe physical neglect, emotional abuse or sexual abuse. This procedure is intended to protect children at risk and may involve Headteachers reporting a case which on investigation proves unfounded. In such circumstances, it is hoped that parents will understand that the Headteacher was acting in what were believed to be the child’s best interests.
- Parents' Guide to Extremism (Links for Parents & Carers) and Keeping Children Safe from Radicalisation (Resources) explain the signs of radicalisation and extremism and how we can work together to keep our children safe from harm.
- Internet and Online Safety – Staff are trained to incorporate online safety into the children’s learning and the school IT network has filtering in place and uses Impero computer monitoring to detect unauthorised use or any instances of online bullying. Each adult and pupil in school has agreed to our Online Safety & Acceptable Use Policy.
