English sits at the heart of learning at All Saints’. Through reading, writing, speaking and listening, pupils develop the skills they need to communicate, imagine, question and understand the world around them.

Pupils encounter a broad range of texts, learn to express ideas for different audiences and purposes, and build accuracy in spelling, punctuation and grammar. Discussion and performance help children become confident speakers and attentive listeners.

Knowledge and skills are developed progressively so that pupils become increasingly fluent, independent and thoughtful readers and writers.
